Thaddeus A Sopel of Maryland became a Prisoner of War during World War II.

Serving in the U.S. Army, Corps of Engineers, CE: CORPS OF ENGINEERS, Thaddeus was captured by GERMANY and was imprisoned at CC 59 Ascoli Picenzo Italy 43-13. Final information at the end of the conflict was Returned to Military Control, Liberated or Repatriated. Data shows Thaddeus was in North African Theatre: Tunisia. Source. US National Archives.
