TURNIPSEED, Ned L., (BG,USA, Ret'd), 74, a resident of Montgomery, AL, died peacefully on Sunday, September 23, 2007, at a Montgomery hospital. A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held on Wednesday, September 26,2007, at 11:00 a.m., from Prattville Memory Gardens, with Dr. Jay Wolfe officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Turnipseed honorably served his country for over 40 years as a Veteran of the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Brigadier General. He was the recipient of several commendations and awards. Following his military career, he was an active member of the Montgomery Parks and Recreation Board, the (Good Morning-Kiwanis Club, and The Poundstone Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church of Montgomery. He also gave generously of his time as a sports referee for the Alabama High School Athletic Association football and basketball, and the S.E.C. basketball.
