The Medal of Honor, typically awarded by the President, is the highest military decoration awarded for valor to members of the US military. Established in 1861 by the Navy and 1862 by the Army and 1965 by the US Air Force each service branch has slight differences in their MOH medal. A number of changes have occurred to the medal since their inception.
